I Wish To Rap Better Than Phyno - Rapper Ikechukwu
Ikechukwu the rapper who became famous with ‘Wind Am Well’ has revealed that the local lyricists have become the Lords of the Manor and no longer those Nigerian rappers who do that in their American or British accent . Ikechukwu, has spent 10 years in the industry, and revealed that he would be celebrating it with a concert.
He said : “Not because it’s stronger than universal (English) rap, but it’s easier to understand; especially for the mass market. As a matter of fact, if I could rap like Phyno, I’d be rapping a little more like him.But I am who I am anyway. Indigenous rap is definitely dope, and it’s rocking right now, as well as opening more doors for a lot of people.’ Shedding light on what he has been up to recently, Ikechukwu stated, ‘I’ve just been taking a little time off; working on some stuff outside entertainment. I’ve also been taking some classes in Film Editing…I’ve taken a big dive into the movie world and TV. It’s like a 360° turn because that’s where I started from initially. I’ve done a couple of movies and TV series including Gidi Up.’

"I did air my grievances but they were not addressed. That was why I left the label.
What are some of the lessons you have learnt since you parted ways with your former label?
I learnt to focus and not really trust what I hear. I have learnt to take everything I am being told by sight and keep my faith in God because He is the only one who actually has my back. Even if I hear something, I don’t react just like that and I also stay away from drama. If I sense that a situation might likely lead to a confrontation, I simply avoid it. I actually wasn’t in a relationship with Ubi. He made all that story up. Personally, I don’t want to speak about it.
She added that her present relationship with her former label boss, Ubi Franklin, isn't cordial.
"No, I wouldn’t like to speak about that"

Some Nollywood Producers are Theives, Blessing Effiom Criticizes African Magic, Actors, Script Writers
Nollywood actress cum producer, Blessing Effiom Egbe, ha come out blowing hot after she discovered how some Nollywood producers go about repeating same title of movie, script and ideas.
The actress stated that some producers because they are paid, they just hump on set and steal other people’s work while asking if they are now short of ideas.
She questioned popular cable channel, Africa Magic, on why they don’t screen content they buy before airing it to their viewers.
In her words, “I'm sitting here watching Africa magic 151 and all I see is DISCLOSURE Season 2 story. This is a shame and I am Sad for this industry. Actors, Producers, directors! Don't jump on set because you are paid to work. People steal & copy stories! In the end, you will look stupid
“Are we running out of ideas in Nollywood? Can two or more film makers sell same story to Africa Magic? Don’t you watch films you buy? Goodness!! Same names, same lines, same story. These film makers tomorrow will parade themselves as film makers. Who are we to then cry about piracy? And script writers who sell same script to two or more people. Your reward is coming. You are worse than a pirate & will reap what u sow!”
