Joseph Benjamin Warns Ladies Against ‘Bottom Power’ Mindset
In Nigeria, it is sometimes believed that things can be easily achieved with the introduction of attracting and curvy ladies, which is commonly referred to as ‘bottom power’.
But popular Nollywood actor, Joseph Benjamin has come out to warn ladies against depending on such to get things done.
Joseph expressed sadness over a recent quote that the reasons why most ladies are relaxed is because they have not gone beyond their mindset of using their beauty to get things rather than use dignity to earn respect.
The actor who posted a quote, “Being a woman isn’t all about the curves or a pretty face, you should also have a functional brain, an enduring spirit and a praying tongue,” sounded a note of warning that for a lady to be able to make a difference and earn a well deserved respect, she needs to believe in herself.
According to Joseph, “The reasons why many women are objectified is because they have not gone beyond the mindset of I can use my beauty to get anything I want.”

The Press Should Stay Away From My Personal Life - Joseph Benjamin Fumes
Kogi State born Nollywood actor and MTN Project Fame host, Joseph Benjamin has since 2012 parted ways with his wife of eight years and mother of his two kids.
The estranged couple who walked down the aisle some years back parted ways amicably in 2012 due to some irreconcilable differences.
In a brief chat with Nigeriafilms.com, when inquired how being a single father is like and plans of remarriage, the actor retorted by asking if he was given a wife?
In his words, "Did you give me a wife to marry?"
"I have always told the press to stay away from my personal life. I have crossed a line there. It’s a no go area. I love you guys (press), you make us (the celebrities) what we are today but we should try to respect each other’s boundary," he said.
JB, as he is fondly called had earlier debunked the rumours of domestic violence and infidelity being the reasons for his separation. “A lot was misconstrued and I will not hold anyone responsible for it because everyone is entitled to their opinion and for me I believe that when you embark on a journey like that, it is something that, it requires the two people involved to have a certain form of understanding. Let me go a bit spiritual with you here, the Bible says can two work if they do not agree?
“So there should be some form of agreement. You guys should have this certain joint that kind of links you up together and if to an extent it’s not there and one feels that there is a need for you to like maybe, move on, let’s be matured about this, let things go in a very calm and subtle manner. So that’s basically it," he explained.
Furthermore, in a more relaxed mood, the actor moving away from his family life, spoke about his musical career and the progress achieved so far which he tries to strike a balance with his acting career.
"I have always done music. I used to be with a band. We used to sing at events. I do soul and inspirational songs. Although I have plans to do more songs in near future, but I can never leave acting for music. I combine the both of them."
Joseph Benjamin got his big break as the co-host of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season II (a reality TV show). The handsome Nollywood Nigerian actor is blessed with two lovely children, a 10 year old daughter and 7 year old son.
