Though fans and friends love her both as a mother and as an actress because of her ability to interpret her scripts well to the taste of many. This has continued to bring more movie producers to keep coming for her to feature in lots of their movie.

Madam Saje during a TV programme, ‘Gbarada,’ revealed that her ability of not having an educational degree, has hindered her growth in the English movie industry as producers keep inviting her for jobs but she keeps turning them down.

'I never swept the street of London to survive' - Sola Sobowale Denies Doing Menial Job In London

Few years ago, it was alleged that popular Nollywood actress, Sola Sobowale was doing menial job in London, including sweeping to earn a living.

A Lagos-based magazine, E247, then published an interview of the actress, where she was quoted to have confirmed doing a cleaner’s job in the UK in order to fend for herself.

“I am slaving in England and I don’t give a damn what people say. I thank God, I have heard them say how can she move from grace to grass, how can she a whole movie star in Nigeria and be doing this kind of job here.

“I can do anything for money as long as it is not theft, cheat or sell myself or my morals. If it is to sweep the streets of London to make money to survive or keep my children going I ‘Sola Sobowale’ will do it. I believe in what is called dignity of labour.

“In England when I am going to work I don’t hide myself I put on my uniform from home, on my uniform it is written there ‘Household 21’ this is me, I am not ashamed and I don’t give a hoot about anybody when I know that I can’t beg for money so why should I pretend,” she had said in an interview with the magazine.

However, in a recent interview with Punch, the actress denied ever working as a social worker in London.

“I did not sweep London streets to survive. I never sweep except it is my house. If people peddle rumours that I sweep the streets of London to survive, so be it. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. The bottom line is that I believe in dignity of labour but I have never swept in any land to earn money in my life,” she said in the interview.

The actress, fondly called Toyin Tomato, is reportedly in Nigeria for her son’s wedding.

I Won’t Take Any Insult On Halima Abubakar—Ruggedman Fumes

Nigerian rapper, Ruggedman, has urged bloggers to stop spreading falsehood about him and friend, Halima Abubakar.

There have been reports online that the two celebs were seeing each other, which spurred another report that Halima said she’s bigger than Ruggedman. The rapper urged those spreading such report to show respect for other peoples’ feelings.

Reacting to the issue, Ruggedman wrote, "Dear bloggers, you all need to have a little respect for peoples’ feelings (which is hard because all you care about are hits on your blog) and once in a while pretend to show a little professionalism. Do not be afraid to ask real journalists how it is done. Yes twisting her words to make it look like Halima insulted me will attract attention and then what?

“I have been reading silly stuff about me being in a relationship with my paddy Halima Abubakar. I didn’t feel it was necessary to say anything about it because it is what it is ‘a silly rumour’. Not until an angry fan of mine insulted her on my twitter timeline and I thought to put an end to it before another false rumour gets blown out of proportion.

“When asked about it the same silly false rumour, Halima replied ‘I don’t like responding to such rubbish insinuations again, I'm bigger than that,’ meaning she is bigger than false rumours but leave it to an attention seeking blogger to twist her words and make it look like she said she is bigger than me. You say you could not reach me to hear from me? Very funny. Na lie go kill you hahahaha!!!

“Halima is one of the closest people I can call bestie. We have both supported each other coming from nothing to now. So I will not stand by and watch anyone insult her because of the silly antics of an overzealous blogger.”

How Ini Edo’s Bakery Business Crumbles After Failed Marriage

Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, might have been faced with matrimonial crisis, but that has not stopped her acting skill, which gave her fame and fortune. Shortly after her marriage to Philip Ehiagwina crashed, it was reported that she acquired an expensive ride, which has not been confirmed yet.

When the going was rosy, the actress went on social media to announce her venture into the bakery business with the introduction of ‘Ini Delicious’, which took over the Ojota metropolis with many asking for it.

Actors Should Not Be Angry at Governor Amaechi - Liz Benson Begs

The ongoing controversy revolving around the Best of Nollywood (BON)’ awards which was held on Thursday, 16 October, 2014, is far from over as some Nollywood practitioners have seen the alleged Governor’s statement as an embarrassment. But veteran actress, Liz Benson, has a different opinion to that.

The actress cum evangelist, who was one of those given an honorary/special recognition award, says her colleagues should not feel insulted by what Governor Rotimi Amaechi said. Rather, they should try to develop themselves the more.

Making reference to the Holy Bible, the actress explained that the Holy Book says “whatever your hand findeth to do, do it well.” Noting that it is not about what people will say that matters. “Don’t look at what men say, but what you know and what God says, whatever your hand findeth doing, do it well. It is the grace of God that has brought me this far.”

The practitioners are not only angry with host Governor Rotimi Amaechi for calling them products of circumstances, adding that many of them are in the acting scene because they couldn't find other jobs, but they are also unhappy at the ‘mismanagement’ of the event.

Yes I can be f----d for real in a movie - Afrocandy

Judith Mazagwu, the controversial actress and emerging porn star known as Afrocandy, in an interview with Entertainment Express revealed how her ex hubby forced her into becoming a pornography movie actress.
She also talked about her love for plastic surgery and reasons she likes exposing her boobs and other sensitive parts of her body.

Why did you go into pornography? Was it for money or to spite someone?
It was just an idea that popped up in my mind. It wasn’t in any way to get back at my estranged husband then. I’d been separated from my husband since 2007, but the porn movie thing came up just around last year. I can say that money was the primary reason because at a time after my husband left me in the US, I couldn’t pay my house rent. So I went into it both because of the money and the fun.

So would you say your desire for money has been met and have you made enough money from porn movies?
You know one thing, no matter how much one makes, it’s never enough. I still need more money.  As I’m talking to you now, a major distribution company has bought the exclusive distribution right for that movie worldwide. I owe it all to God.

Really? Do you acknowledge God in this?
Of course I do. Who created me anyway? You think I don’t know who created me? I am a Catholic and sometimes I do go to church. In fact, I went to St Leo’s Catholic church last Sunday.

Did you also dress your usual half nude to the church?
I dressed my normal way and had this same crazy hairdo. No I didn’t feel out of place. And this happens to be my birthday month so when celebrants were called out to be prayed for, I also came out and the reverend father sprinkled holy water on me and some entered my eyes. (laughing)

But your lifestyle will definitely be frowned at in the society especially in Nigeria here. How do you cope with negative reactions from people?
I owe nobody any explanations. It’s my life and this is exactly how I wanna live it. I’m having fun doing what I am doing. Let me tell you, if not for the joy and satisfaction I found in showbiz, I might have died out of depression. So my life style is my choice. There are those of us who are born to be in this game and 20 years from now I still want to be in this game.

What about your family, do they know about your lifestyle and how do they take it?
My family doesn’t have time to start bothering about my life style. They are all busy with their different lives and careers. In my family, we have two big engineers, a lawyer and a doctor so come on they don’t have my time even if they know. Moreover, my kids are my immediate family now.

And what about your Kids, do they know about your lifestyle and how are they taking the whole thing too?
I don’t have to show my kids my bad movies. But the truth is that I tell them about it somehow. I tell them ‘look, I’m doing some crazy stuffs but it’s all in the game’.

So what if any of them decides to follow mummy’s footstep?
No, no, no. Not at all. They must get their education first. I’m not one of those mothers that will give room to their kids to choose if they want to go to school or not. It is mandatory that they go to school just like I did. I also remind them that before this whole thing, I also got married and had them. So if any of them chooses to follow my footsteps after achieving all these, then the choice is theirs.

Do you plan to quit this lifestyle anytime soon?
Not at all. Why would I quit when I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. I just finished a club tour in Ikeja. I get paid as much  as N200,000 to appear in clubs. Though some of the clubs are strictly for big politicians and it was exclusive. Maybe I can consider quitting when I’m getting old and my body begins to wrinkle. Though, I have plans to do plastic surgery if there is need for it. But sincerely, I still want to to be in this game in another 20 years.

What would you say inspired your sojourn into this your new trend of entertainment?
I was sleeping in my house one night and a song came to me in my dream, I woke up and told my kids about it. At this time, I was unable to pay my house rent and the landlord was already threatening to evict me from his house. I knew I needed help desperately. Along the line, I met a producer who offered to produce my songs if I had good ones. Somehow I realized that as a beautiful woman I shouldn’t be broke. So I recorded Ikebe na money and Lonely. When shooting the video, I knew I had to do something extra ordinary so I removed my G string, put it on top of the guy and began to wind my waist vigorously. Wow, that was what started the whole frenzy. People went crazy and the whole phenomenon of Afro candy was birthed.

Sometime ago you were begging for money from fans on your facebook page for your daughter’s school fees. Does it mean you don’t make enough money from your porn lifestyle?
It was a stunt. It’s all part of the game. My daughter actually refused to go to all the other schools where she was offered scholarship but chose a particular one which was very expensive. So part of why I did that was also to see if I can get her to change her mind and attend the school I can afford.

Are you saying you weren’t broke as reported?
Look at me very well, do I look broke? I shop for all my clothes and shoes in America and I don’t think a broke person can do that. Like I said, it was all part of the game, you got to do what you got to do. If the stunt worked out, I would have been happy because I definitely want the money. If not for anything, I’ll use it to buy more wigs and hair extensions for myself.

Why the decision to produce a porn movie?
I wanted to do something different from the normal movies we see, I mean the so called love movies without actions. I’m sure a lot of people are tired of all that and need something different. People like me who doesn’t believe in such fakeness. The movie actually has a storyline but I went the extra mile to make it extraordinary.

Do you believe in love?
Of course, I believe in love but in a different way. My definition of love is money. Any man that gives me money is showing me love and will surely get mine in return. For instance, if a minister just comes and dumps dollars on me, I’ll naturally fall in love with him. Money to me is the determining factor in love.

With this kind of philosophy, do you still think of marriage?
Of course I do. But it will be money marriage. My estranged husband is begging me to come back but I don’t know if I will. As I’m speaking with you, he is the one taking care of my girls back in the United States. He’s been begging and promising to make up for the time we’ve been apart. But how can he do that? I tell him I’m not the same woman he married but he says he doesn’t mind that he wants me like that.

So are you in love right now?
Yeah! He is spoiling me with money and I love him. He’s the one paying my bills in this hotel and it costs as much as 25k per night, including my other expenses.

Can you tell us about him?
No. I won’t mention his name.

Is he a married man?
Nope. He is a single guy, but not all these your yuppie guys with droppy pants, hell no.

Can you do straight pornography in movies?
Oh yes, once I have chemistry with the guy .Yes I can be f----d for real.  In my movie, I stripped totally naked and had a guy fondle my boobs. It’s no big deal.

What is your philosophy of life?
To me life is give and take.  I don’t have to carry the whole world on my head. Life to me is a roller coaster, it’s not that serious. That’s why when I see people just taking life that seriously cursing and gossiping I’m like ah. So let me live my life the way I want and I don’t interfere in yours. I believe in live and let’s live.

BON Awards and ZAFAA awards that dupe people should be stopped – Elvis Chuks

Award winning Nollywood actor, director and producer, Elvis Chuks, is seen by many as responsible for the drama that has kicked off following the completion of the 2014 edition of the Best Of Nollywood awards, during which Gov. Rotimi Amaechi was said to have insulted Nollywood and its practitioners.

Chuks, the CEO of Diamond Groove Pictures spoke exclusively to NET, giving a full account of events which took place in Port Harcourt during the 7th edition of the BON Awards, held at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, October 16, 2014, and the resultant controversy.

According to him, ‘They bought economy tickets for all the celebrities expecting us to sit with people who are our fans in economy class, how else can you belittle actors. Desmond Elliot, Sola Sobowale and others all flew economy class, only I and Iyabo Ojo bought our first class tickets. We got to Port Harcourt, and they brought a luxury bus to carry celebrities, I left them and hired a private car that took me to the hotel. When we got to the hotel they wanted us to stay in, the hotel was nothing to write home about. I moved out of that hotel and checked into a better hotel. It got to the time they wanted to leave for the venue and they started calling me, so I came from the hotel where I was and joined them at the same hotel where they lodged actors and they brought yet again a luxury bus to carry us.’

When asked if he was the only celebrity who complained while all this was going on, he said, ‘other people were complaining, but you know how people are, they don’t want to say it the way it is.’

Chuks, who has produced a number of movies in the industry himself, added: ‘When we got to the Government House, they asked us to alight at the gate and walk to the venue, everybody there walked to the venue, when we got to the hall, not a drop of water was on the table for everyone including Mama G, Liz Benson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Bob Manuel and others.
The stage was another problem, it was so bad that people fell from it several times, it was designed with plywood, Desmond Elliot almost fell on the stage.

As if that was not enough, the governor then stood up and his first statement was: ‘Nollywood is a product of Necessity.’ Dickson Iroegbu, who works with the presidency sat beside me and he shouted ‘Jesus.’ We were all shocked and then he started explaining the statement and still said when Joke Silva and Kate Henshaw come to see him in Port Harcourt, they go with cartons of money. Those statements are uncalled for. And I stood up and walked out; because that is the height of insult anybody would want to take.

Both Seun Oloketuyi and his Amaechi are not good people, and all these wishy-washy award ceremonies have to stop; the likes of BON Awards and ZAFAA awards that dupe people should be stopped.

They are bunch of liars, Oloketuyi and Amaechi are losers. I told Oloketuyi himself that 100 of his governor friends cannot feed me, I’ve done well for myself, I attended the award because of my nomination, I cannot be treated like a nobody, how can they carry celebrities with luxurious buses. I’m sure you heard what happened last year to people that went to the BON dinner in the same Port Harcourt, most of them were stranded at the airport.

There is nothing i can't do in a movie.. I can even take up a lesbian role - Uche Ogbodo

After the marriage crash and a baby to look after Uche is set for another life, which according to her, is definitely going to be better than living with lies and under the shackles of marriage. She has everything all figured out and the first thing that counts now is her acting career.

“Of course, I’m going to take on more daring roles, that’s my career and I’m only going to keep improving myself. As an actress, there’s nothing that I cannot do. There’s nothing I can’t do in a movie, once it’s a movie. I can even take up a lesbian role. But in real life I’m not a lesbian, don’t get it twisted. That’s why I’m an actress, its make-believe, it’s not who I am. I’m only going to do my career the way I’m supposed to do it and it puts food on my table so you don’t feed me, you don’t judge me, that’s it”, she said without bating an eyelid.

She also revealed more of her music plans, “I haven’t come around to releasing a single but I have it at the back of my mind, really. I’ve done some previously, but I didn’t release any one. I’ve done about six tracks produced by Phyno some years ago” she said.

I don't like talking about Iyanya - Yvonne Nelson in a new interview

When we all thought the Yvonne Nelson and Iyanya love saga was all over, social media is bringing everything back to life again.

After granting two major interviews on her controversial love life with the ‘Your Waist’ crooner late 2013 – with BellaNaija & The Juice – Yvonne Nelson says perhaps something wrong was gotten from both sittings… on the issue of who dumped who?

In a new interview with AllAfrica.com, the Ghanaian super woman may have insinuated that both interviews, including a meeting with Beat99.9 FM’s Toolz, she was not interpreted perfectly.

“I granted interviews on this whole thing: Bella Naija and Toolz (The Juice). I don’t want to repeat myself,” she told the site.

“My interviewers took whatever they wanted to take away from the interviews i granted them.” she ended.

Not wanting to dive deep into the past, she rested her case but according to rumours, Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh was the root of the break up.

Nelson previously told Toolz, “I hate a situation when you bring a third person into any relationship that I’m involved in.”

Meaning, ‘when this happened, Nelson threw in the towel’?

It's obvious that she was the one who actually left Iyana’s flexible waist to focus more on her film career. After all, that has paid off!

The Yvonne Nelson Production is now boasting of three major movie successes: House Of Gold and Single And Married, and recently the record-breaking, Single, Married and Complicated

“I’m born again but it is not easy to abstain from sex before marriage - Uti Nwachukwu

Big Brother Africa All stars winner, Uti Nwachukwu wish he could stay off sex till he finds the right woman to settle down with, but he is afraid, the task is too much for him to carry.

While speaking with a vanguard reporter, Uti says he gave his life to Christ in 2006, but admits he is still an imperfect person, despite being born again.

“Of course, I am born again, I found Christ in 2006, I have always believed in Christ. But I must tell you I am not still perfect, he told the reporter. “Being born again, means accepting Christ as your Lord and personal saviour. He didn’t come to the world for the righteous, Christ came for the imperfect ones like me and you. I genuinely want to change, Christ is right there soliciting and interceding for me, because he is the way, the truth and the life. People fail to see that it is we, the imperfect, that Christ came for. I am extremely imperfect. I am not the stereotypical type of born again, I am the type that is aware of the love and grace” he explained.
When asked what he meant by being imperfect, he said;

“Personally, I would not want to have sex before marriage but sometimes you fall and when you fall, you repent and beg God for forgiveness; it’s not easy."

See why T.D Jakes wants to take legal action against Kendrick Lamar & Young Jeezy

T.D Jakes has threatened legal action against award winning American rap stars Kendrick Lamar and Young Jeezy.
The rappers who recently released a remix named “Holy Ghost” used a snippet of a T.D Jakes sermon in the intro of the song.  Bishop Jakes has said that he did not authorise the use of the sermon in the Hip-Hop song. He posted the following message on his Facebook page:

In the remix Jakes sermon states the following:

To tell myself, I’m still on fire. I’m under attack, but I’m still on fire. I got some chatter, but I’m still on fire. I got some threat, but I’m still on fire. I got some liabilities, but I’m still on fire. If it’s not amazing that I’m on fire. I’ve been to hell and back, but I’m still on fire.

Neither Young Jeezy nor Lamar have responded to the allegations.

How many boreholes have you sunk in the community? Clarion Chukwura ask Entertainers going into politics

Veteran actress Clarion Chukwura is baring her thoughts on the fact that quite a number of Nigerian entertainers have showed an interest in being in Politics.

Nollywood names like Kate Henshaw, Kenneth Okonkwo, Desmond Elliot and more as well as music acts like Tony Tetuila, 9ice, Kenny St. Brown and comedian Julius Agwu have indicated that they will be vying for different political positions as against 2015.

In an interesting chat with Punch Newspaper, Clarion Chukwura states that the rush by Nollywood practitioners to join partisan politics is sheer hypocrisy. According to her, some artistes want to go into politics because they are not getting much money from their vocations.

She says, “The motive of those who are embracing partisan politics is purely monetary. Let us call a spade a spade. If you tell me that you want to go into politics to serve the people, I would want to look at your record first. I want to see what you have done to better the lives of the people in your immediate community. How many boreholes have you sunk in the community? How many hours of community service have you given for free over the last four or five years? How well are you known as somebody who yearns for improvement in social development?”
